Music

At Kempston Academy we believe that every child has a musical ability to present and perform individually or to work in collaboration as a team. Our curriculum enables students to be challenged to perform musical skills related to the topic which is delivered each term. Music at Kempston Academy encourages an ambitious range of knowledge and skill development such as to play melodies, scales, chords and developing compositional styles related to a specific genre or practitioner. As part of the musical learning journey, we have an accessible curriculum developed for students which enables them to understand the importance of learning basic musical skills to more advanced compositional techniques such as using music software which enables students to create and publish their music to a wider audience. All students learn the fundamentals of the musical elements to support them to grow and succeed which enables them to become developed practitioners in music.
